DataTables

We have datatables used quite a bit in our pages now and one of the recent requests was that (provided all data is loaded at once) we could filter on data in the detail row of a master/detail scenario. One example of this is that we have a table of documents with various details about the document. Each document can have 'n' comments which are child records. They want to be able to enter a word in the filter and have it work as it does with all visible data. Thoughts? Asking too much?
