Bootstrap 5 and Bulma styling

DataTables has long had the ability to integrate with external styling libraries, ensuring that your tables look and feel the same as the rest of your site or application. Today, I'm pleased to announce that we are adding support for two more styling libraries:

  • Bootstrap 5
  • Bulma

Bootstrap 5

If you've done any frontend work, you'll have heard of Bootstrap - it is easily the most widely used styling framework around, and for good reason. It let's you create fantastic looking sites with minimal effort. Bootstrap 5 is the latest installment.

We have now completed our integration with Boostrap 5 for DataTables, Editor and all of our other extensions, and you can select Boostrap 5 in our download builder or use our new *-bs5 npm packages.

Bulma is the "new kid on the block" - focusing solely on styling with CSS (there is no Javascript file in Bulma core), it is open source and provides a large list of components which are ready to use. We have found Bulma very intuative to work with while writing the integration.

As with our other styling libraries, Bulma is also available in our download builder, or our new *-bm npm packages.
