The test case helps! Its not always easy or obvious all the issues with code snippets even if they are complete like yours

There is not sort event. It's called order: https://datatables.net/reference/event/order

Your code confuses me a little ... Looks like you are not really using the built-in features of Editor and Data Tables a lot.

To be honest. I don't really know why. But I took a look at my data tables definition. And I only use "POST" when I have something to post to the server ... Maybe that answers your question…

There are two problems. The first is you need to set the date columns to columns.type or date. Using console.log statements you can see the the moment date format for the columns cDate is not valid:
