Exporting Child Rows

I have followed some guides to set up child rows that can have their visibility toggled on and off. I am using this is combination with buttons to enable the export of PDF/Print as desired.

It seems that you cannot export the hidden rows and include them in any reports generated.

If this is the case not only has this proven to a complete waste of my time but it's entirely moronic. Often the data for a row is too much for one line so the child rows is useful, just don't expect to be able to export it.... Insane!
