Hello,
i have a problem when exporting data by pdf/csv using the Buttons Extension. The data contains a lot of letters like ö, ä, ü, ó, á.
It is shown in the downloaded file as "ü"... for example.
Unfortunately i didn't find any options to set the character-set.
Does the Buttons extension use the characterset of the page it is included in or does it have a standard?

Hmmm - this was meant to be one of the big advantages of Buttons over TableTools!
Could you give me a link to the page you are having problems with so I can debug it. It should work (my testing has it working) - as long as you are using the HTML5 button types. It won't work with the Flash export option unfortunately (the PDF generator library used just doesn't support that).

Did you ever find a solution to this? I seem to have the same problem.
When i download the script and use it, i get weird letters. When i use it directly from the datatables website, it works fine.
Have you tried using the nightly version of Buttons? If that doesn't help, please link to a test case showing the issue.
