Force to show specific rows

Is there any way how to allways show some certain rows? Even if does not match search filter.

for example:
On http://datatables.net/release-datatables/examples/api/select_row.html select some rows, and then type in search "asd". I would like that selected rows stays visible.

Currently no with the built in filtering. It is possible if you write a custom filter - http://datatables.net/development/filtering , but I'm afraid I don't have any examples of that.
