Preserving row grouping with Excel export

I'm implemented row grouping in my Datatable from this example http://datatables.net/release-datatables/examples/advanced_init/row_grouping.html, and I'd like to preserve this when exporting to Excel. Is there a way to get this to work?

same here ....... for me also the buttons are diplayed but on click nothing happens
