how can i just get the search filter as i dont want it to re order it in to a-z order i just want the search bar so i can use it to search in to tables

So you want to display sorting - is that correct? Use bSort .

no i just want the search box thing and thats it so i can type something in and it will just show that

Sorry I didn't mean to say 'display', but rather 'disable'. Do you want to disable sorting? You only want filtering correct? So disable the other features you don't want - sorting, paging.

If you want to disable sorting - yes. You said you don't want sorting, so I presume you want to disable sorting and as I have said, sorting can be disabled with bSort .
