It is my job to do 508 assessments on our sites and I just completed a reassessment to the updated 508 requirements.
Although this data table is keyboard accessible and passed with flying colors, the labeling/instructions were not so good.
A screen reader always tells the user the number of columns and rows in each table. The screen reader that I used read "0 rows" "0 columns" The labeling I added in the header is supposed to associate the column head info with the data in the same column in the body and tell the user that this data is associated with this column.. didn't do that so the user had no idea which number was associated with which column head.
Is there any way to fix this?

Also is this labelling a part of ARIA or similar? Is it something DataTables core should be doing?
