ColSpan example broken

I am trying to use ColSpan in my header, and I was going through the examples, but the code provided in the ColSpan example doesn't show anything. Is it possible to update that page?

The example seems to work just fine for me. What aspect of it is broken? There is a colspan in both the header and footer.
