The question for Allan: How to cite DataTables in a scholarly or a research paper?
Do you have an "official" publication or a book or one can cite a webiste as described in http://www.easybib.com/reference/guide/

Thank you for the great work - I donate whenever I can.

Other than keeping the copyright notice in the code, there is no need to cite DataTables. You are very welcome to link back to http://datatables.net if you like, and it would be warmly welcomed - but there is no requirement to do so.
