Datatable not working after table rerendered. Any thoughts please.

I am using datatable in Salesforce visualforce page. When the page loads for the first time it loads the stylesheet, css, and initialize datatable and finally i can see all the features like paging, sorting, header and footer on the table is coming. Now, just above the table i have created a button, when clicking on that would trigger a method in my controller and automatically re-renders my table. This issue is when it is doing so, the datatable is entirely gone and the default visualforce table is displaying. What could be the issue? What should i do to fix this issue.
