Undefined function with highlight plugin

Hello,

I am trying to use the highlight plugin, but it doesn't seem to work. I am getting the error :
"Uncaught TypeError: undefined is not a function"

Here is the link to the simplest test possible :

With the console window opened, if you start to type in the "search" field, you will get the error.

It depends upon thirdparty software which needs to be included. As noted in the header for the search highlighting plugin:
