fnServerParams for DataTables 1.10?

One quick question, I found that what I need is called fnServerParams in versions prior to 1.10. Is there a new version for that functionnality in the new DataTables? I can't find it in https://www.datatables.net/manual/server-side

ajax.data as a function. (edit I had originally suggested ajax, which is the replacement for fnServerData ...).
