Navigation is not working for more than 1000 records

am using Data table with the method of Iterator and struts2 to update data dynamically..for JSP ...in that
1.I can't able to customize number of columns
2.Its not showing only 5 records when I choosen an option of 5..instead of that it was displaying all the records.
