How to use key navigation?

I am new to javascript. I want to do a Memory game in HTML and Javascript using arrow keys. I have placed all images in a table and now I want to move around the images using the arrow keys. I have googled for hours to find out how to do this. Seems like KeyTable is the way to go. But how do I start? Do I need the dataTable? How can I do this in a simple way without having to download a zipped folder that contains all kind of things. where in the HTML-code should I put the javascript-code ? help!
