Yes, the "Choose file..." text will show the browser files window. If you don't want drag and drop - use the dragDrop option. See the upload field type documention for more details.

Oh I see. There isn't a built in way of doing that, but I don't see any reason why a custom field type plug-in couldn't be used for it.
