i am using bootstrap and i trying to find a way to have modal details display icon shows always.
I want to have column 0, 1 always visible and the rest columns hidden.
How can i have always visible columns 0, 1 and modal details display icon?

Are you referring to Responsive's details display? Currently, there is no option to have the icon always display - it will only be shown then the table is in the collapsed state.
However, this is the second time this question has come up in the last week so I'll look at adding this ability for the next version.

Did this feature ever get added, if so how do I reference it to make the modal work for full screen views where every column appears in view, but gives me the option to have modal view anyway?
Not yet. The "details" icon is only shown when the table is in a collapsed state. You could potentially have one column which is always collapsed which would cause the icon to always be shown.
