Multi Filter (Column Filter) Permanently Constrains Rows Available in IE 10

The Column Filter appears to be broken in IE 10 and behaving somewhat oddly in Chrome. You can use the example Column Filter page here: http://datatables.net/examples/api/multi_filter.html to test this out.

In IE, as you type in the column filter, the rows become constrained to fit the criteria. However, if you remove the criteria (either by backspacing over the letters in the input box, or by using the "x" on the right side of the input box that removes the criteria text), the original set of rows does not return. I even tried using the overall search filter to narrow and then remove search criteria to reset the table and that doesn't work.

In Chrome, the column filtering seems to be applied and removed as expected, however, there's no "x" on the right hand side to clear the text for you...weird.

My program manager often uses IE because she has to simultaneously work in SharePoint along with our custom web app. Is there any work around for this behavior?

Thanks

ETA: Suddenly IE has Column Filter mostly working. The "x" on the right side still doesn't work and I'm spooked by the whole experience. Is this just a case of IE being fickle?
