problem with fixed left column

In the example here https://www.datatables.net/extensions/fixedcolumns/examples/initialisation/left_right_columns.html notice how the header disappears when scrolling under the fixed left column.

In the example I built here http://live.datatables.net/gagejofi/1/ notice how you can see the <thead> values under the left column as you scroll.

What am I missing in building the example?

That is because you forgot the fixedHeader.css file. In the linked DataTable example, click on the tabs to see required files used in the example.
