multiple select using shift key

Perhaps I have missed it or it is not possible but can one use the shift key to select multiple rows between two previously clicked entries.

This example allows multiple selection but users have to click on every item individually https://datatables.net/examples/api/select_row.html

It would be nice if one could hold shift and click once at the top and once at the bottom to select all the rows in between the two clicks (like MS Excel)

Does anyone know if this method of selecting is possible?

With Select you can do multi-row selection just like you can in an operating system with shift and cmd/ctrl click support. The example you linked to does mention Select and that it has more abilities.
