Editor trial, time bomb?
Editor trial, time bomb?
Hello,
I'm having an issue with Editor plugin that suddenly broke into a weird javascript issue (some obfuscated name isn't defined).
Looking at this thread: https://datatables.net/forums/discussion/13553/what-is-editor-for, some say there's no time bomb in the trial, and that it's only feature -limited.
It happened that it's FALSE. Downloading a fresh 15-days trial package and replacing old one fixes the weird JS issue.
To me, the obfuscated code has hardcoded date and invalidates the plugin after the trial is expired. I was about to purchase a license, but since it's really unclear I think I will reconsider.
Can someone really tell me what's inside that obfuscated JS?
Time bomb or not?
Thanks,

That is not the case. The trial is fully featured, but the Javascript code is obfuscated and also time limited. After the 15 day trial period expires it will no longer function and a license is required. If you run out of time with the trial, please let me know and I'd be happy to set up an extension.
The licensed version is neither obfuscated, nor time limited.

Allan
Thanks for pointing out the original thread by the way. I've added a reply there to clarify what the situation is now, as it has changed since the time that thread was originally written. It was the case that the one-to-many feature of the PHP libraries was not available in the trial then - that is no longer the case. The trial is fully featured.

Ok, thanks for clarifying. I was unsure the guy saying there's no time bomb was part of your team. (EDIT, oops, I just saw it's you. Maybe things changed since then?)
So everything makes sense, this is what I've observed. I'll probably be buying a license cause I definitely need it.
Please consider adding some explanation regarding differences between trial/licensed on your purchase page to make things clearer.
Thanks again.
There is a "What happens at the end of my trial" question in the FAQs on the purchase page but I will most certainly make that clearer - thanks for flagging it up!
