Rows unselected when clicked outside of datatable

is there any way to keep the selection when the user clicks outside of the datatable?

It should do by default, as you will be able to see in this example. There is a select.blurable option that can be enabled to blur the selection when clicking outside the DataTable - but that is disabled by default.
