Works fine only on my local machine. If I link to the libraries online, it doesn't. Or if
I upload the libraries to my godaddy account for a hosted site. Do I need to get the paid license ?

DataTables and all but one of its extensions are MIT licensed, free open source software, free for you to use as you wish, as long as you simply keep the copyright headers in the source files.
Only Editor requires a commercial license to be used. Such licenses are available for purchase here.
