Server side processing in a aspx web method - is this possible?

I have been struggling to make a web method in my aspx page which can provide server side processing for my DataTable.
Has anybody achieved this and are there any examples of how to access the DataTables parameters?

I have not been able to get a web method to accept the DataTables data, either in a POST or GET. DataTables passes this:

Is there an option to change this to a format that an aspx page handler can understand?

Note: I don't have any place to post a working .net aspx page; I am hoping for an answer from somebody who has used aspx in this way, not somebody who has never done it.

What does aspx understand? Pure JSON in the request body? If so, then use the ajax.data option (there is an example on that page showing how to send the parameters in the request body as JSON).

I couldn't make a webmethod accept the data as JSON. Ended up setting the content type to 'application/x-www-form-urlencoded; charset=UTF-8' and catching the form data posted back to the page, so not using the aspx webmethod, but it is working nicely now.
