Order by date

Hi, I'm using data-tabel with order for each column.
When I try to order date items it doesn't work. Items comes from mysql and i tested that each of them is a date type.
Do you have a smart way to solve the order?

Ordering by date is highly dependent upon the format being used for the date.

Have a read over this blog post which discusses the issue and introduces a plug-in to resolve the problem.
