Responsive example does not work outside of the datatables site

I wanted to use the responsive of the datatables. I imported all css and javascripts on a html page. However after the page is loaded on a desktop and resize the window to display the collapse button and resize again the collapse button does not disappear again like the responsive page. I took from the responsive page the hole code from <div class="content">...</div>.
What else is required for the responsive datatables to work?
