Datatables Server Side processing - cannot connect to mysql database

Hi,

Using datatables for the first time in a long time and I am following the latest examples (not legacy).

I've configured everything in server_processing.php and input my database credentials which I 100% know are correct and working with the rest of my app.

Looked at the networking I was initially missing ssp.class.php which is reference at the bottom of the server_processing.php file.
I have acquired the latest version of this from github, and its in place. Now I am getting a database cannot connect error message pop up and no data displayed in the table, anyone else experienced this before or any pointers of where to look as to what the problem could be, as it certainly isn't the credentials I have provided.
