Header & footer bar height

i'm using datatable with a customtheme. Everything working perfect except the height of the header bar which contain the search field. When the table is loaded this bar shows up with a height equal to some 8 rows. When i search some thing in the field the bar height resizes and comes to normal. Same happens to the footer bar also.

Please help.
