hi Allan - love your work... just a suggestion:

http://www.datatables.net/release-datatables/examples/server_side/ids.html would be much much clearer if the json table object was visible - in this case initialisation script doesn't really illustrate the use.

Agreed! What I think I should do with all the Ajax / server-side processing examples is include a snippet of the JSON reply from the server so it is easier to see what is going on. I'll try and get that done for the next release.

In the specific case you've highlighted the JSON structure is available in the "Example JSON return" section of the server-side usage page: http://datatables.net/usage/server-side
