Good morning. I have read some reports that this "Cherokee $ Export" issue is a known defect (https://datatables.net/forums/discussion/40038/).
Is this true? If so, what is the time frame for fixing this issue? Whom should I contact for definitive information on this issue.

Hi David,
I'm the owner and author of DataTables. The issue you linked to is specifically about the export of data to xlsx. Is that what you are looking at as well, or something else?
The thread you linked to still reflects my thinking on this topic - we need to invest some time in writing an abstraction layer for Excel export.
