setup up table defaults and reuse

On our intranet site there are a great many number of tables which we will want to behave the same way i.e. same paging defaults, buttons, filtering etc. Instead of repeating this code for every table and having to update in many places if the defaults change can the code be defined just once and then called passing it a tableid?

We use Django so if possible, can any answers be specific to this development framework? i.e. could the 'template' code be placed in a base.html file and then called from the child templates?
