Add a search column inside colvis menu

Hi all,

I've tried to no avail to find an answer or a working example of how to implement the following requirement: I have a colvis button that displays the complete list of columns in a table, a lot of columns indded (around 30). So to help the user of the table find quickly, I have been asked to add a search input at the top of the column menu, a la Jira (see attached image), but don't know how it can be done. I've tried searching for an event that can allow me to customize the dom before it's rendered. Can anyone point me in the right direction.

That's not available in the standard package, though it would be worth looking at YADCF - Yet Another DataTables Column Filter - as there are some excellent features in there. I haven't looked at it in a while, but it could have this.
