Possible to change columns().search() from AND to OR search yet?

Just wondering if there was an easy to way to specify some columns from a table and then OR search specified columns for a value. columns( [1,2,5]).search("fred").draw(); currently AND searches which doesn't retrieve the necessary rows for me at the moment

This is an example that @kthorngren did for another thread that OR searches across multiple columns - this would be a good place to start.

Unfortunately my comment in the original thread is still the case. There are a number of threads on how to do OR based searching, but none quite as simple as the API cold make it.
I've pingged Colin to ask him which thread he was looking at specifically.
