Recently I tried to get the plugin slidingChild running but most likely I missed something to initialize it correctly.
I want to use it together with the responsive extension to show/hide the child rows animated.
Is there somewhere a documentation and examples on how to use it?

Thank you for the fast response but it's not exactly what I'm looking for.
There is a (new?) plugin in DataTables Plugins - slidingChild - which I thought could fulfill my requirements directly. Is there a documentation / examples somewhere and is this plugin working together with responsive extension child rows?
The thread you are refering to leads to a solution I looked at already but this seems not to work with responsive extension child rows ... at least I was not able to get it running with responsive child rows.
Ah I see, my example in this thread should do the trick.
