How to delete header padding

Hi, I have to questions from the attached image (1) how do I remove the padding from the header if I can, so it includes the headr text only and the sort logo. I tried regular Css it didn't work.

Also how can I set the padding between the pagination drop box and search box so if the screen is that small they stay next to each other as much as possible.Thank you.
