Hi,
I would like to be able to upload files but store them outside of my web hosting server. For example Dropbox or Google Drive.

Absolutely you can do that. You need to provide a custom upload function to tell the server where to upload the file.
This thread has a discussion and code on how to do this with an S3 bucket. You could do similar with the APIs provided by the other cloud storage providers.
