I don't understand the problem description. The test case has two rows and shows the appropriate child-data data value from the tr.

Please tell us more about the problem and how to recreate it in the test case.

Have you used the browser to inspect the table to make sure the data attribute is there?

Are you dynamically building the table before initializing Datatables?

Can you post a link to your page or a test case showing the issue?
