Sorting Breaks after changing Page Length dropdown

Description of problem:
when my dataTable loads, I can sort without issue. But if I use the 'length' dropdown to change the # of rows showing, then go back up and click on the col headers to sort again - they do nothing. On another of dataTables, this does not happen. For the dataTable showing this problem, i am using orderDataType to make use of the ordering extensions like dom-text and dom-text-numeric from one of your examples. So I don't know if that is causing this issue or not. Here is a weird thing that might give you a clue as to what is going on - i've noticed that then the sorting goes stupid, if I simply resize the browser window a little, then suddenly sorting is clickable again. Any ideas?

nevermind i figured out what was happening
