Long column labels - shorter version?

Hello,

I wonder if datatables has a way of handling long column labels. It's very common case that column label is much wider than the values in column. While this is acceptable on hi-res screens, the long labels mess-up the visibility of other columns.

| This a a long label that must be here for hi-res | Normal X | Normal Y |
| 5 | 2 | 3 |

Does datatables offer a way how to solve this issue?

For example having possibility to show shorter label for smaller resolutions when using responsive Bootstrap datatable or something similar. Didn't find anything in documentation nor forum that addresses this problem.

Any advice appreciated

I forgot to mention: ideally, when viewed on smaller screens and the shortened column label is clicked.... it would show a popover with full string.

Nothing build it, but you could try tilting them - see this thread.
