Default on dropdown

I have a dropdown when an All, Open and Completed option. I am trying to set Open as the default selected but it will just show All. I tried to set it as selected, also tried to use fnfilter and change it to Open but not giving me the right results. Is there a specific way to do this?

without seeing how you're doing it (a link, code snippets) I can't what you're doing wrong.

What column in your table does the "All", "Open", or "Completed" map to? What do the values in that column look like?
