Is there a way to set an initial search option, but specific to a column? The search option applies a global search. I'm looking for the same thing but specific to a column.

nevermind, found it https://datatables.net/reference/option/searchCols
It is somewhat counter intuitive that option. It should really be a
columnproperty... One for an update sometime!Good to hear you found the answer.
