Fixed Column widhts!?

Is it possible to let the fixed columns have the same width as given to the cols using swidth? i'm only able to set iLeghtWidth and then "something" is calculated but it never matches my needs. i have to set a fixed width to the fixed first three cols of my table. please let me know if this is possible or where to take a look for some help.
