aLengthMenu isn't displayed correctly

I'm not sure exactly what I did, but the length menu is no longer displaying in any of the many datatables I have in my application. Instead, I get this:

Show _MENU

I ran it in Chrome, and no errors appeared that I could find, but obviously the replacement of the _MENU placeholder isn't working. I'm not sure where to start to look for a fix, or a likely cause. Please advise!

Look alike you need to add an underscore to the end of _MENU. It should be _MENU_.
