Hello all,

I've just posted a new blog article about how to use mDataProp as a function in DataTables 1.9 and what options this opens for working with different data formats for each individual cell.

If you do use mDataProp as a function, let us know - I'd be most interested in seeing how you are using it!

Regards,
Allan

    Really nice!

Finally we can get rid of hidden columns to use for sorting/filtering.

    Hi TP,

Thanks for the feedback. My plans for the next major version of DataTables (probably v1.10) will include the ability to sort and filter on abstract data. Currently DataTables does still need a column reference for these functions, although with this orthogonal data you can feed it just about anything form the data source. 1.10 will be a nice progression in that direction :-)

    Regards,
    Allan
