fnAddDataAndDisplay plugin showing no result

i am using server side code to add new data into my data tables,
i wanted to show the newly added row via fnAddDataAndDisplay plugin and i followed it to every word but i am not able to display the newly added row rather it just displays the first page
i am ordering the data based on its primary key could that be a problem
also how can i animate or change the background of the newly added row so tht it could be easily recognised by the end user..
