Try on any example datatables on this site or spin up a JS Fiddle - Hitting ESC does not clear the search filter on DataTables using Microsoft Edge 41.16229.248.0 Microsoft EdgeHTML 16.16299 or Firefox 59.0.2.
Works in Internet Explorer 11, Chrome 65. Have not yet tested on Safari (macOS).
Not applicable on mobile browsers.

That's a browser feature. DataTables doesn't listen for the escape key in the global search input. Escape clearing the input is something that is being done by the browser - example with no Javascript here.
That would be one to report to Microsoft if you want parity between browsers there.
