Inline Edit looses focus after MouseUp on Chrome

rieflriefl Posts: 4Questions: 1Answers: 0

Hello,

I encountered a Problem with the Inline Edit.
It can be recreated with the example:
https://editor.datatables.net/examples/inline-editing/simple

To recreate this please follow these steps:
1. Click on any text-cell
2. Select a part of the text and release the mousebutton outside of the cell boundries.

I tried Firefox and IE, both are functioning correctly

    Hi @riefl ,

I'm not seeing that in Chrome. Can I confirm what I'm doing:
    1. Click on the "Accountant" on the top row
    2. Highlight "ant", keeping left button down
    3. Release left button above the table in the text
    4. Typing now still types in that inline cell

    Cheers,

    Colin

    thanks for the fast reply.
on Step 3 try releasing over the text Tokyo.

This behavior also appears on a different machine I tried.

I currently have the Google Chrome version 73.0.3683.86 (64-bit) on Windows 10

    Hi,

I tried a bit on an older VM i have.
Got the same result as you did.

Chrome Version was 72.0.3626.121 (64-bit), on Windows Server 2016
After Chrome Update the same Issue appeared on this machine

    Hi @riefl ,

Gotcha - yep, W10 Chrome 73.0.x is reproducing it. It seems like a difference in Chrome's behaviour as you said. I've raised it internally (DD-855) and will report back when there's an update.

    Cheers,

    Colin

    Hi @riefl ,

It's in the backlog but has been looked at yet I'm afraid.

    Cheers,
