    DataTables Ajax error 500 (internal server error)

    The place to start is to follow the troubleshooting steps outlined in the link:
    https://datatables.net/manual/tech-notes/7

    The 500 Internal Server Error is coming from the server. You will need to look at the server logs to find out why it is having an error. This is not a client side error.
