We are using PHP 5.4.12 and MySQL 5.5.
Commented out some parts of the script that builds the database (mostly date oriented stuff), but cant get the samples to return any data)

PHP 5.4 is absolutely fine - anything from around 5.3.17 is supported.
For MySQL, 5.5 is supported, but the demo SQL uses
datetimewith a default ofCURRENT_TIMESTAMPwhich requires 5.6. To address this simply change thedatetimefield types to betimestamp.It means that you have less range of valid dates, but it will work fine for 1970+.
